Door
Edge Guard Installation Instructions
*Clean
the door edge surfaces both inside and out with an all purpose cleaner.
Note: If the material isn't sticking
it is because there is some type of contaminant on the paint surface.
*Being
careful not to touch the adhesive, peel back the release paper about
an inch and position the end where you want the door edge to start,
having half the width of the material
on the paint and half overhanging the door edge.
* Continue
peeling back the release paper and applying the
strip along the door edge as long as the edge is fairly straight.
* If the door has an outside curve, peel back the release paper
so you have just enough corner. By gently stretching the material,
it will "claim shell" around the outside curve leaving
no material buckled on the backside. After the outside curve, return
to the "half on half off" process.
*When
you get to where you want the door edge guard to end, cut the door
edge guard off at a right angle (corners of acute angles can get
caught and peeled up by wash mitts.
*Gradually work the overhanging half around the door edge being
careful not to trap any air bubbles.
*Firmly run your fingers along the entire length of the door edge
making certain the edges are well secured.

*Notes
Don't apply door edge guard over pin striping, this will leave a
small gap of air, where dirt and moisture can get under the door
edge.
Don't stretch the material into an inside curve or concave bodyline.
Lay the door edge guard into those areas.
